π About the Book¶
When Duncan arrives at school one morning, he finds a stack of letters, one from each of his crayons, complaining about how he uses them.
π§ Read Together¶
Tips for π§Έ Picture Book Pals (ages 3β5). Reading together for just 15 minutes a day builds vocabulary, focus and a lifelong love of stories.
- Look at the cover together and ask: βWhat do you think this story is about?β
- Turn on captions (CC) so your child sees the words while hearing them.
- Pause and ask βWhat do you think will happen next?β There are no wrong answers!
- Hunt for letters: can your child spot the first letter of their name on screen?
- Ask your child to retell the story in three parts: beginning, middle, end.
- Draw a favorite picture from the story and label it together.
- Can you find your favorite picture?
- What sounds did you hear in the story?
- What colors did you see?
